
A graduate of both the VCA’s Music Theatre foundation course and Bachelor of Music Theatre (2011), Jason found his passion for singing and music theatre whilst at Carey Baptist Grammar School in Kew. He has since trained at various institutions including the Johnny Young Talent School, where he performed on a regular basis, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus, Danceworld 101 and the VCA, honing his skills as a triple threat performer. Jason has worked with many vocal coaches, including Martin Croft, Gary May and Adam Wood at Armstrong’s School of Singing, where he has now become a valuable member of the faculty.
Jason has performed with many theatre companies around Melbourne since graduating from VCA. His stage credits include many of the great musicals such as ‘Fame’, ‘Footloose’, ‘Me & My Girl’, ‘42nd St’, ‘A Little Night Music’ (alternated playing Henrik and Frid), ‘Dreamsong’ (Paul), ‘City of Angels’ (de Costa and Mahoney) and ‘West Side Story’ (Pepe and the Jets).
With a passion for current contemporary music and musical theatre, Jason hopes to assist his students develop vocal freedom and stamina with their technique. His goal is to make singing less vocally fatiguing and more enjoyable for everyone.
